Queen Elizabeth II has been a political figure, ambassador and figurehead for the country for 70 years – and this bank holiday weekend will mark her platinum jubilee.
Throughout her reign, she has traveled across the UK and the Commonwealth – and made many visits to Greater Manchester, from touring the Coronation Street set to strolling through the Manchester Evening News area to Spinningfield and visiting Withington Hospital.
To mark the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, we have rediscovered these images of Her Majesty visiting Greater Manchester throughout her reign.
