Refuge for women to be subject

for the Steubenville Women’s Club

STEUBENVILLE – The OFWC/GFWC Women’s Club of Steubenville will meet Monday for a noon lunch and business meeting at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville.

President Carlotta Jordan will chair the meeting where the program presenter will be Theresa Golden, executive director of Refuge for Women Pittsburgh.

According to its website, Refuge for Women is “a non-profit, faith-based organization that provides specialized long-term housing and emergency housing for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. With multiple locations across the United States, Refuge for Women provides up to 12 months of safe housing, at no cost to the resident, with around-the-clock care as clients progress through grounded programs evidence-based and trauma-informed. We strive to help every woman graduate from the program with a vision for her future, equipped to succeed and lead a life of dignity and hope.

for the Lenten pierogi sale

WEIRTON — A frozen raw cheese and potato pierogi sale sponsored by St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is ongoing through Thursday.

The cost of a dozen pierogis is $12 and orders can be placed by calling (304) 479-0196. Scheduled order pickup is April 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Hall, 604 Colliers Way, across from Weirton Medical Center.

April 14 lunch plan for pensioners

STEUBENVILLE — Retirees from the schools of the city of Steubenville met on March 10 for lunch at the City of Steubenville.

Jeanne D’Anniballe told the group about the Steubenville Art Association’s 150-member exhibit that was on display at the Visitor Center at historic Fort Steuben. The next lunch will be April 14 at Capraro’s Restaurant and Lounge in Hopedale.

Indoor garage sale on Saturday

UNIONPORT – The Wayne Township Community Center in Unionport will be the site of a large indoor garage sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Food will be available. Profits will be used to maintain the community center.

Toronto beautification group takes orders for geraniums

TORONTO — The Toronto Beautification Committee’s annual geranium sale is underway and orders are being accepted until April 23.

A geranium costs $3.85 and is available in red, white, coral, pale pink, salmon and dark pink. Order forms can be found in Toronto at Tri B’s Coffee Shop, Subway, Post Office, Sweet Shop and Toronto Apothecary. To order by phone, call (740) 537-4332.
