Einstein, Beatrice P., 99, died on Friday August 27, 2021 at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Einstein. Born in New Brunswick NJ, daughter of the late Samuel and Ethel (Fleishman) Pincus, she lived in Springfield NJ for many years before moving to Kingston RI in 1996.
She has been a civic leader in her community all of her life. Beatrice was president of the Springfield NJ League of Women Voters and a member of the League’s State Legislative Committee. She was a member of the Beth David congregation in Narragansett RI and a former member of Temple Poile Zedek in New Brunswick NJ where she worked to save the synagogue by listing it on the National Register of Historic Places. Still passionate about her community, Beatrice volunteered to teach English to foreign-born Holocaust survivors, recorded audiobooks for the blind in New Jersey and New York, and served as co-chair of the Springfield NJ Drug Abuse Commission. She also served as the volunteer CEO of the Springfield NJ Senior Citizens Housing Authority, where she oversaw the design, construction and selection of tenants for community housing. Beatrice was president of the Emanuel Congregation Brotherhood in Roselle NJ and was chair of the Springfield New Library Committee, where she was successful in persuading the township to relocate and build a new library.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at New Fernwood Cemetery, 2391 Kingstown Rd., Kingston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to The blue card which provides assistance to Holocaust survivors, or Yad Ezrah offering a wide variety of charitable services to the needy in Israel.
Shiva will be for friends and family outside in the garden of Beth’s house after the service.
