MARSHALL – The Minnesota Department of Health will be hosting another COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Marshall next week, this time at the Marshall Area YMCA.

Marshall Y staff announced this week that immunization appointments will be available next Wednesday for people 12 years of age and older.

The COVID vaccination clinic will be held Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to receive the vaccine are encouraged to make an appointment for their first dose online at https: //www.solvhealth. com / book-online / pRJxQp.

The vaccination clinic will use the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which requires two doses a few weeks apart, organizers said.

To register for an appointment, all you have to do is provide your name, date of birth and home address. They are also encouraged to provide a cell phone number and email address. If a child aged 12 to 15 receives a COVID vaccine, they must be accompanied by a parent.

People who want to be vaccinated against COVID do not need to show identification or have medical insurance, organizers said. Linguistic and American Sign Language interpreters will be available on site, they said.

Those vaccinated will be required to wear a face mask and obey the rules of social distancing at the clinic.

People who require transportation to the immunization clinic are encouraged to use Marshall Area Transit. More information on bus service times and routes is available online at the United Community Action Partnership’s transport website, https://www.unitedcapmn.org/services/transportation-program/community-transit / service-hours /.

The MDH held COVID vaccination clinics in Marshall a few times earlier this year. In January, Marshall served as a community pilot site for vaccinations, with events drawing hundreds to a clinic at Marshall Middle School. In March, another clinic at the MERIT Center in Marshall focused its efforts on vaccinating food factory workers and residents of Latinx communities in the region. Avera Marshall Medical Center also held large vaccination clinics at its Carlson Street campus earlier this year.
