Ecobank Malawi has provided unsecured personal loans of up to K15 million over a 36 month tenure to civil servants, including those who are not customers of the bank.

This is according to Ecobank Malawi’s National Consumer Banking Manager, Sophie Kala Mable, who said the unsecured personal loan seeks to provide a faster and affordable financing option to all government employees across the country. country.

Kalambule further said that the bank is always committed to providing services that will improve many livelihoods hence the loan which she says will help many of their customers as well as government officials to achieve their goals.

“At Ecobank, we always put the interests and needs of Malawians and our customers at heart. With this innovative customer-centric loan, we have streamlined the loan application process to easily accommodate any bank or non-bank official with us.

“We believe that this loan will go a long way towards realizing the dreams and plans of many civil servants,” Kalambule said.

The national head of the consumer bank further indicated that in order to apply, the civil servant only has to fill in an application form and present his national identity card without the need for a letter of commitment or change payment point.

She also mentioned that within minutes applicants will be informed of the total loan amount they can afford and the applicable monthly installments and further clarifies that upon approval the funds will be disbursed to their account within 48 hours. .

According to Kalambule, the 36-month tenure increases affordability, allowing more civil servants to obtain loans of substantial amounts up to a maximum of 15 million kwacha.

To facilitate access to the loan, the bank has also developed an online pre-application form where, after filling in the necessary details, customers will be contacted to inform them of their financial capacity.
