Lolly stunned fans during the highly anticipated Miami Heat vs. Lakers game with her rendition of the National Anthem accompanied by the Miami Presbyterian Church’s First Choir and a string octet. The famous opera singer’s rendition of the national anthem was full of high-pitched melodic notes, which perfectly embodied her essence as an opera singer.
high life sat down with Lolly to get a feel for what it was like to perform the national anthem at the FTX arena for esteemed guests like Luis Fonsi and DJ Khaled, as well as her unique and exquisite look that she has designed herself. Lolly also reveals what’s on the horizon for her this year – and we can’t wait for what’s to come.
HIGH LIFE: Can you describe the feeling of playing the national anthem at the Miami Heat game?
RADMILA LOLLY: I was very honored to perform the national anthem. As a performer, I felt strongly responsible for conveying the message of the anthem without making it my own as a singer.
HL: How were you able to appropriate your interpretation of the national anthem?
LR: As a composer, I love writing for strings. I was happy to have had the opportunity to write and perform this arrangement for strings, choir and soprano melody.
HL: How many practices did you do before the performance?
LR:string octet, First Miami Presbyterian Choir, and I had seven church rehearsals [before the performance].
HL: You wore a custom 50-pound outfit that you designed, The Crystal Jumpsuit And Cape. Can you tell us about your outfit? What was the concept behind?
LR: In October, I learned that I would be performing the national anthem. I imagined what I would wear to my performance that night before bed. When I woke up, I had a clear vision of what I would wear. I sketched it out and bought all the necessary materials, and put it into production the same day. It took about seven fittings to make sure the outfit was exactly what I wanted.

HL: Can we expect more performances like this from you this year?
LR: Yes, I will release my 5D PROJECT “DIVA” in December 2022. The project includes a novel, an audiobook, an album, a short film and a Couture line. I’m very excited about this.
I also start shooting my short film “DIVA” in March. This will be my first film as a director and screenwriter.
