Lexus recalls 2022 NX and halts sales

Lexus has issued a recall order for approximately 4,300 2022 NX SUVs because their front shock absorbers may come loose, which could cause drivers to lose control. The company estimates less than 1% of 2022 NX SUVs are affected. But he asked dealers to stop selling them while he investigates.

In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Lexus explains that the factory may not have made several spot welds during the production process. “Missing spot welds between the body panels and the front shock mounting areas can cause the front shock to separate from the mounting area.”

Lexus is still developing a remedy for the problem. Recall repairs are always free, but the company has not yet determined what repairs might be needed in this case. He plans to notify owners by mail in early June. Affected owners may contact Lexus Customer Service at any time by calling 1-800-331-4331. The Lexus number for this recall is 22LA02.
