The Bookseller – Rights – Juliet Stevenson to narrate audiobook of A Ukrainian Christmas by Hrytsak and Gerbish


Actor Juliet Stevenson is to narrate the audio edition by Yaroslav Hrytsak and Nadiyka Gerbish. A Ukrainian Christmasa book celebrating Ukraine’s Christmas traditions published in the UK by Sphere, Little, Brown Book Group on November 3.

A Ukrainian Christmas was originally published in Ukraine in December 2020, was a PEN Ukraine Best Book of 2020 and was shortlisted for BBC News Ukraine Book of the Year 2021.

The rights were acquired by Cath BurkeLittle, Brown’s deputy general manager of Olena Karghii at Portal Books, and Little, Brown donated to the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Humanitarian Appeal for Ukraine when it was published.

Sarah Shrubb, Audio Editor, said: “Juliet Stevenson is our dream narrator for the audiobook and her beautiful narration perfectly complements this incredibly special book.

Stevenson is known for his television and film roles, such as in “Death in Paradise”, “Lewis”, “Bend it Like Beckham”, and “Truly Madly Deeply”.
