Ticket prices skyrocket for Mike Krzyzewski’s final home game at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium

If you want to catch Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday against North Carolina, it’s going to cost you.

ESPN released a chart this week showing the most expensive ticket was $75,000. A search on ticket master Wednesday morning showed the most expensive tickets were closer to $16,000.

Holly Chambers, a Duke subscriber we spoke with, said she knows someone who turned down an offer of $5,000 for her seat in the fall, but when the offer went up to $10,000 , “they accepted the agreement”.

“No matter the price, my seat is not for sale,” Chambers said.

“The demand we’re seeing for this game is impressive and is a testament to the passionate Duke fan base we’ve seen playing in our historical fan forecast data when the Blue Devils show up,” said Stephen Spiewak of lively seats. “We believe this is one of the most requested college basketball games of all time.”

Spiewak provided these comparisons to other hot sporting events since 2010:

Duke on Tuesday clinched a share of his first ACC regular season title since 2010 with an 86-56 rout of Pittsburgh in Coach K’s last road game. The Blue Devils also clinched the No. 1 seed in next week’s ACC Tournament at Barclays Center.

The Blue Devils can clinch the first all-time title in the ACC program since 2006 on Saturday against rival North Carolina.

“I’m sure it will be emotional,” Krzyzewski said. “But it will be about my team. Always, always, always, always.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has Duke currently projected as the 2nd seed in the NCAA Tournament, and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim believes Blue Devils ‘slight favorite’ to win Coach K’s sixth NCAA championship in its final season.
